- 2 cups whole milk or heavy cream

- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- Tear the bread into chunks and spread it evenly across the dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, whole milk (or heavy cream), both sugars, ground cardamom, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well blended.
- Fold in the diced pears and pour the custard mixture over the top, ensuring everything is evenly coated.
- Let the mixture sit for 15-30 minutes to soak.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and the custard is set.
- Serve warm, optionally with powdered sugar or maple syrup.
