Delicious and comforting tuna rice balls filled with umami flavors, perfect for family meals or lunchboxes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 1 cup fresh sushi-grade tuna, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Chopped green onions
  • Fresh herbs (cilantro or parsley)
  • Optional: Diced vegetables (carrots, cucumber), sautéed mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice until the water runs clear. Cook according to package instructions and let cool slightly.
  2. In a bowl, combine tuna, soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions, and any additional ingredients. Mix well.
  3. Wet your hands, take a handful of rice, flatten it, and place a teaspoon of the tuna mixture in the center. Roll it into a ball.
  4. Place rice balls on a parchment-lined plate, keeping them moist with a damp cloth if not serving immediately.

Notes

For added flavor, consider serving with lightly toasted nori sheets.
