Description
Delicious cookies featuring a delightful swirl of rich chocolate and creamy vanilla dough, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy – about 4-5 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Divide the dough in half. To one half, mix in cocoa powder until well combined.
- Take spoonfuls of each dough and alternate them on your prepared baking sheets. Swirl them together in a figure-eight motion.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden, but the centers remain soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Switch up the location of the baking sheets halfway through baking for even heat distribution. Don’t overbake to maintain a chewy texture.
