Description

A delightful centerpiece for gatherings, featuring a sweet and savory glaze that elevates the traditional ham experience.

Ingredients

  • Ham (bone-in, pre-cooked)
  • Brown Sugar
  • Pineapple Juice (fresh or canned)
  • Soy Sauce
  • Dijon or Yellow Mustard
  • Pineapple Rings (for garnishing)
  • Cherries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Score the surface of the ham to enhance glaze penetration.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, and mustard. Stir until dissolved; simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. Brush half of the glaze over the ham; reserve the rest for basting.
  5. Cover the ham loosely with foil and bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
  6. Uncover the ham in the last 30 minutes to allow caramelization.
  7. During the last 15 minutes, add pineapple rings and cherries for presentation.
  8. Let the ham rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with sides like mashed potatoes and green beans.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C) for safety and optimal flavor.
