Delightful and festive Rice Krispie treats shaped like ghosts, perfect for Halloween celebrations.
Ingredients

- 6 cups crisp rice cereal
- 10 ounces marshmallows (or 40 large marshmallows)
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- White chocolate or candy melts for coating
- Black decorating gel or melted dark chocolate for faces
- Optional: a tablespoon of browned butter, pinch of flaky sea salt, toasted coconut
Instructions
- Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment and lightly butter the paper. Measure cereal into a large bowl.
- Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat until it foams. Stir frequently.
- Add marshmallows and stir until fully melted and glossy. Mix in vanilla and salt.
- Pour marshmallow mixture over cereal and fold gently until coated.
- Transfer to the prepared pan and press evenly, then chill for 15–20 minutes.
- Cut out ghost shapes and dip in melted white chocolate.
- Decorate faces with black gel or chocolate.
- Allow to set and store in an airtight container with parchment in between.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, ensure the cereal is certified gluten-free. For less sugar, reduce marshmallows slightly.
