Description

A quick and flavorful stir-fry that combines succulent shrimp and crisp broccoli in a delicious honey-garlic glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes or fresh chilies
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or your favorite cooking oil)
  • 1 cup sautéed mushrooms (optional)
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (like cilantro or green onions)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your vegetables: Wash and chop the broccoli into bite-sized florets. If using mushrooms, slice them thinly. Set them aside.
  2. Make the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes until combined.
  3. Sauté the shrimp: In a heated skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once shimmering, add the shrimp, cooking until they turn pink and opaque (around 2-3 minutes).
  4. Add broccoli: Toss in the broccoli and any additional vegetables you’re using. Sauté for another 3-4 minutes, just until the broccoli turns a vibrant green but still retains its crunch.
  5. Pour in the sauce: Drizzle the honey-garlic mixture into the pan and let it simmer for about a minute, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  6. Garnish and serve: Finish with fresh herbs on top. Serve the dish over rice or noodles.

Notes

To maintain bright green broccoli, blanch it briefly in boiling water before adding it to the stir-fry. Adjust the sauce to your taste, starting with less and adding more if needed.
