Description
A delightful dish combining sweet honey and spicy chili flakes, perfect for weeknight dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs Boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)
- 1/2 cup Honey
- 1/4 cup Soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tsp Red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 inch Ginger, minced
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil (or sesame oil for flavor)
- 2 tbsp Cornstarch
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Coat chicken and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare your pan: Heat a tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the chicken: Remove chicken from marinade and place in the hot pan, cooking for about 5–7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Add the reserved marinade: Pour it into the skillet and allow it to simmer, then reduce the heat and let it thicken for another 5–10 minutes.
- Garnish and serve: Top with sesame seeds or sliced green onions before serving.
Notes
For an extra crispy texture, dust the chicken lightly with cornstarch before marinating. Serve with jasmine rice or steamed vegetables.
