Ingredients

- 1 cup active sourdough starter
- 1 cup warm filtered water
- 2 tablespoons sea salt
- 3 cups high-protein bread flour
- Cheese blend (sharp cheddar, mozzarella, and/or Gruyère)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine sourdough starter, warm water, and salt.
- Gradually add bread flour, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Transfer dough to an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 4-6 hours until doubled in size.
- Gently punch down the dough, divide it into about 12 pieces, and shape with cheese filling.
- Arrange rolls in a greased baking pan, cover, and let rise for another hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cheese is bubbling.
- Let cool slightly before serving warm.
Notes
Consider adding sautéed garlic, fresh herbs, or jalapeños for flavor variations.
