Description

Deliciously soft sourdough rolls infused with melted cheese, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup active sourdough starter
  • 1 cup warm filtered water
  • 2 tablespoons sea salt
  • 3 cups high-protein bread flour
  • Cheese blend (sharp cheddar, mozzarella, and/or Gruyère)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine sourdough starter, warm water, and salt.
  2. Gradually add bread flour, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Transfer dough to an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 4-6 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Gently punch down the dough, divide it into about 12 pieces, and shape with cheese filling.
  6. Arrange rolls in a greased baking pan, cover, and let rise for another hour.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cheese is bubbling.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Consider adding sautéed garlic, fresh herbs, or jalapeños for flavor variations.
