Description
Delightful salted peanut butter cookies shaped like Christmas trees, perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup creamy natural peanut butter
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the peanut butter and unsalted butter until smooth in a large mixing bowl. Gradually add the brown and granulated sugar, blending well.
- Add vanilla extract, then sift in the all-purpose flour and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thick. Use a tree-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with melted chocolate, or sprinkle colorful toppings to decorate.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes for better handling and to help cookies hold their shape. Check baking time closely to avoid over-baking.
