Description

Delightful salted caramel pecan pie bars featuring a buttery crust, rich pecan filling, and a touch of sea salt.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
  • Coarse sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch pan.
  2. Combine flour and sugar in a bowl, cut in butter until crumbly.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of the pan to form the crust.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
  5. In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
  6. Fold in chopped pecans.
  7. Pour filling over the crust and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes.
  8. Allow to cool completely and sprinkle with coarse sea salt before serving.

Notes

Allow the bars to cool completely for easier cutting. Consider drizzling with melted chocolate or serving with vanilla ice cream.
