Description

A refreshing traditional spiced buttermilk drink, perfect for hot summer days. This delightful beverage combines creamy yogurt with aromatic spices and fresh herbs.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain yogurt (or Greek yogurt)
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 12 teaspoons roasted cumin powder
  • 12 green chilies, finely chopped (optional)
  • A handful of fresh mint leaves
  • A handful of fresh coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • A dash of black salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl or blender, combine the yogurt and cold water. Whisk or blend until smooth and frothy.
  2. Add roasted cumin powder, finely chopped green chilies, and salt. Taste and adjust the salt according to your preference.
  3. Toss in the fresh mint and coriander leaves, gently stir to incorporate.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  5. Pour into glasses, garnish with a sprig of mint or a sprinkle of extra cumin.

Notes

For a frothier texture, blend the mixture. Adjust spices to taste, and chill before serving for the best flavor.
