A refreshing traditional spiced buttermilk drink, perfect for hot summer days. This delightful beverage combines creamy yogurt with aromatic spices and fresh herbs.
Ingredients

- 2 cups plain yogurt (or Greek yogurt)
- 2 cups cold water
- 1–2 teaspoons roasted cumin powder
- 1–2 green chilies, finely chopped (optional)
- A handful of fresh mint leaves
- A handful of fresh coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
- A dash of black salt (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl or blender, combine the yogurt and cold water. Whisk or blend until smooth and frothy.
- Add roasted cumin powder, finely chopped green chilies, and salt. Taste and adjust the salt according to your preference.
- Toss in the fresh mint and coriander leaves, gently stir to incorporate.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Pour into glasses, garnish with a sprig of mint or a sprinkle of extra cumin.
Notes
For a frothier texture, blend the mixture. Adjust spices to taste, and chill before serving for the best flavor.
