- Store-bought or homemade pastry dough
- Fresh strawberries
- Fresh blueberries
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Granulated sugar (for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the pastry dough on a floured surface and cut it into 4×4 inch squares.
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
- Place a spoonful of the cream mixture in the center of each pastry square. Top with a couple of berries.
- Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling and pinch them together.
- Brush the tops lightly with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden and puffed. Let cool before serving.
Notes
Keep the pastry dough cold before baking for optimal puffiness. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
