Description
A festive layered dessert featuring chocolate pudding, whipped cream, and fresh strawberries and blueberries, reminiscent of the American flag.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package chocolate pudding (instant or homemade)
- 2 cups whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 package chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- Glass cups or jars for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the pudding: Whisk together cocoa powder, sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan. Gradually stir in milk and cook over medium heat until thickened. Chill the pudding in the fridge to set up.
- Whip the cream: Beat heavy cream with a touch of sugar until soft peaks form. If using store-bought, fluff it up to make it light.
- Crush the cookies: Place cookies in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin until they resemble dirt.
- Assembly: Layer chocolate pudding at the bottom of glass cups, add crushed cookies, whipped cream, sliced strawberries, and blueberries. Repeat until filled, finishing with whipped cream and berries.
- Chill and serve: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
Letting the cups chill enhances flavor and helps the layers settle nicely.
