- 3 to 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp salt
- Optional: walnuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruits
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas using a fork or potato masher until smooth.
- Add melted butter to the mashed bananas. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla, mixing thoroughly until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently just until combined.
- If using, fold in nuts or chocolate chips carefully.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For enhanced flavor, let the banana bread sit for a day before slicing. It freezes beautifully for up to 2-3 months.
