Description

A delightful and comforting banana bread made with ripe bananas, perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 to 4 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Optional: walnuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruits

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas using a fork or potato masher until smooth.
  3. Add melted butter to the mashed bananas. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla, mixing thoroughly until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently just until combined.
  6. If using, fold in nuts or chocolate chips carefully.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, let the banana bread sit for a day before slicing. It freezes beautifully for up to 2-3 months.
