Description
A visually stunning and delicious layered dessert featuring cake, fresh berries, and cream, perfect for festive celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package vanilla pudding mix (or scratch-made pastry cream)
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 pound cake or sponge cake (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries (sliced)
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 cup fresh raspberries
- 1 cup whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)
- Optional: Mint leaves for garnish, crumbled cookies for texture
Instructions
- Prepare the Vanilla Pudding: In a bowl, combine the vanilla pudding mix with whole milk according to package instructions. Allow it to chill in the fridge until set.
- Prepare the Cake Base: If you’re going homemade, bake your pound cake and let it cool completely. Slice it into small cubes.
- Prepare the Berries: Wash and slice your strawberries, and keep the blueberries and raspberries whole for that burst of flavor.
- Assemble Your Trifles: In clear glass cups or jars, start by adding a layer of cake cubes. Next, spoon in a layer of the vanilla pudding, followed by a layer of mixed berries. Repeat the layering until you reach the top of the glass, finishing with a generous dollop of whipped cream and a few berries on top.
- Chill and Serve: Allow the assembled trifles to chill for at least an hour before serving to meld the flavors and enhance deliciousness.
Notes
Avoid overfilling glasses and ensure pudding sets properly. Use a balance of sweet and tart berries for flavor enhancement.
