Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • Nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
  3. Mix in the egg and maple syrup until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the white chocolate chips and any nuts.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop mounds of dough onto a lined baking sheet with space in between.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and centers are still soft.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the dough for chewier cookies. Use room temperature butter for best results.
