Ingredients
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
½ cup milk (or almond/oat milk)
⅓ cup pure maple syrup
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a separate large bowl, cream the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet, alternating with milk.
6. Fold in the pure maple syrup until evenly distributed.
7. Spread batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
8. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
9. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before glazing or serving.
Notes
Use only pure maple syrup for best flavor.
Let bars cool fully before cutting for clean edges.
Try adding chopped nuts or mini chocolate chips for a twist.
