- 1 1/2 cups pretzels, crushed
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar (for filling)
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup whipped topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Crush the pretzels finely using a rolling pin or food processor.
- In a medium bowl, mix crushed pretzels with melted butter and sugar until combined.
- Press the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for about 10 minutes until golden brown. Let cool.
- In another bowl, blend cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add sugar, followed by fresh lemon juice, and mix well.
- Fold in the whipped topping until everything is combined.
- Pour the filling over the cooled pretzel crust and spread evenly.
- Chill the bars in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before slicing.
- Cut into squares and garnish with lemon zest before serving.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, substitute with gluten-free pretzels. Cream cheese can be replaced with mascarpone or yogurt if needed.
