  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and dark chocolate chips over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth; remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Slowly incorporate the melted chocolate-butter mixture until combined.
  5. Add in the flour and salt, stirring just until no dry streaks remain.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, ensuring sufficient spacing.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges look set but the centers remain soft. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Add walnuts or a swirl of peanut butter for extra flavor.
