Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the sugar, corn syrup, and unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Slowly add the heavy cream while stirring constantly.
  3. Continue cooking until the mixture reaches 244°F.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
  5. Pour the caramel mixture into a greased 8×8 inch pan.
  6. Once set, cut into squares and wrap each piece in parchment paper.

Notes

Use a candy thermometer for accuracy. Stir constantly while adding cream to prevent burning.
