- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- Roasted red peppers (jarred or homemade)
- Fresh garlic (sautéed or roasted)
- Chives (freshly chopped)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Roast the peppers until charred, cool, peel, and chop.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt.
- Gradually add warm water to the dry ingredients, mixing until combined. Stir in roasted peppers, garlic, and chives.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until elastic.
- Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased bread pan.
- Let it rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
For a crustier exterior, place a pan of water in the oven while preheating.
