A comforting homemade cinnamon swirl banana bread recipe that’s perfect for family gatherings and cozy mornings.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Add melted butter, eggs, and sugars to the bananas and stir until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. In a small bowl, mix remaining cinnamon with sugar for the swirl.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture, add the remaining batter, and top with the rest of the cinnamon mixture, swirling gently with a knife.
  8. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Check at 55 minutes.
  9. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

For a healthier version, substitute butter with applesauce and use whole wheat flour.
