Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tray with liners.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Follow with the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; whisk to combine.
- Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the creamed mix, alternating with the buttermilk until just combined.
- Fold in colorful sprinkles, reserving some for topping.
- Spoon the batter into cupcake liners, filling them about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow them to cool completely before decorating with frosting and remaining sprinkles.

Allow cupcakes to cool completely to prevent frosting from melting. Consider using a light and fluffy frosting for best results.
