Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add in the eggs, one at a time, and blend in the vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and roll out the chilled dough to ¼ inch thick.
  7. Use cookie cutters to shape the dough into festive Halloween figures and place them on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges begin to turn golden, then cool on a wire rack.
  9. For frosting, beat together the softened butter and powdered sugar, adding vanilla and milk until creamy.
  10. Frost the cooled cookies with colorful buttercream and decorate as desired.
