- One batch of buttercream frosting (store-bought or homemade)
- Edible decorations such as chocolate candies or licorice for spider legs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with paper cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Bake in the oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
- For decorating, use a piping bag to pipe the buttercream frosting on top of each cupcake. Decorate with chocolate candies for spiders and licorice for the legs.
