Description

Delightful Halloween-themed pretzel treats topped with sweet candy spiderwebs, perfect for family fun and festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup baking soda
  • Course sea salt for topping
  • 1 cup white candy melts (or any color you prefer)
  • Piping bag or a zipper bag with a small corner cut off for piping

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Allow the mixture to sit until foamy, about 5–10 minutes.
  2. Gradually mix in the flour and salt until combined. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 10–12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope, about 24 inches long, then twist into a pretzel shape.
  5. In a large pot, bring 10 cups of water to a boil and add ½ cup of baking soda. Carefully place the pretzels in the boiling water for about 30 seconds on each side.
  6. Transfer your pretzels to a greased baking sheet and sprinkle with course sea salt. Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. While the pretzels cool, melt the candy melts according to the package instructions. Once melted, transfer them to a piping bag and create spiderweb designs over the cooled pretzels. Allow the candy to set before serving.

Notes

Store leftover treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
