- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup butter, softened (for frosting)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- Chocolate chips (for decorating)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter and mix in sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Beat in the eggs until fluffy, then add cocoa powder and flour. Mix until just combined.
- Pour batter into the pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. A toothpick should come out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow brownies to cool completely.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread a generous layer of cream cheese frosting on the cooled brownies.
- Drizzle additional frosting in a crisscross pattern for the mummy effect.
- Place chocolate chips on top for the mummy eyes.
- Slice into squares and serve on a festive platter.
