Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • Chocolate chips for decoration (optional)
  • Edible eyes (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar. Stir until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually stir the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until fully combined.
  5. Fold in the mini marshmallows, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Bake for about 25-30 minutes until the edges are firm and the center is slightly soft.
  7. After baking, let the brownies cool for about 10 minutes, then gently press more mini marshmallows on top. Optionally, toast them under the broiler until golden.
  8. Add edible eyes to the toasted marshmallows to create ghostly characters.
  9. Let the brownies cool completely before slicing into squares.
