Description
Delightful and colorful cookies capturing the essence of Independence Day celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup red, white, and blue sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy—this usually takes about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and then incorporate the vanilla.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until combined.
- Fold in the colorful sprinkles, reserving some for topping.
- Scoop generous tablespoons of dough onto the prepared sheets, spacing them a few inches apart. Top each scoop with a few extra sprinkles.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, just until the edges are golden but the centers remain soft.
- Let cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For added crunch, try incorporating finely chopped nuts or a sprinkle of flaky sea salt before baking!
