Description

Delightful holiday cookies featuring an eggnog glaze and a warm blend of spices, perfect for Christmas gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 package cream cheese (for filling)
  • Cinnamon sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add eggnog and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and baking powder. Gradually add to the wet mixture until a dough forms.
  5. Use a cookie scoop to portion dough onto prepared baking sheets, roll in cinnamon sugar, and create a deep thumbprint in each ball.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden. Fill thumbprints immediately with the cream cheese mixture.
  7. Cool completely on sheets before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill your dough for at least 30 minutes to maintain shape. Ensure butter is at room temperature for best results.
