Description

A simple and indulgent dessert that combines the flavors of pecan pie and cake in an easy-to-make dump cake.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking dish.
  2. Layer the pecans on the bottom of your prepared dish, distributing them evenly.
  3. In a bowl, mix the eggs, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Add the evaporated milk to the mixture, blending until smooth.
  5. Pour this mixture over the pecans, allowing it to seep through the nuts.
  6. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top, ensuring it covers the liquid beneath.
  7. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, ensuring even coverage.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving; the cake will continue to set as it cools.

Notes

For extra crunch, toast the pecans before using. Use room temperature ingredients for better blending.
