Description
A simple and indulgent dessert that combines the flavors of pecan pie and cake in an easy-to-make dump cake.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups light brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup evaporated milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking dish.
- Layer the pecans on the bottom of your prepared dish, distributing them evenly.
- In a bowl, mix the eggs, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add the evaporated milk to the mixture, blending until smooth.
- Pour this mixture over the pecans, allowing it to seep through the nuts.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top, ensuring it covers the liquid beneath.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, ensuring even coverage.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool slightly before serving; the cake will continue to set as it cools.
Notes
For extra crunch, toast the pecans before using. Use room temperature ingredients for better blending.
