  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Omnivore

Description

Juicy burgers infused with umami-rich mushrooms and a medley of herbs, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup cremini or portobello mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 brioche or whole grain burger buns, toasted
  • Your favorite condiments (aioli, barbecue sauce)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Finely chop the onions and mushrooms, and mince the garlic.
  2. Sauté the Vegetables: In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Toss in the onions and mushrooms, sauté for 5–7 minutes, then add garlic for the last minute.
  3. Mix the Burger Mixture: In a bowl, combine sautéed mix with ground beef and fresh herbs. Season with salt and pepper, mixing until just combined.
  4. Form the Patties: Divide mixture into equal portions and form into patties, about 1-inch thick.
  5. Cook the Burgers: Grill or pan-fry over medium-high heat for 4–5 minutes each side, until a meat thermometer reads 160°F (71°C).
  6. Add Cheese (optional): In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.
  7. Assemble Your Burger: Toast your buns, layer on condiments and desired toppings.
  8. Serve and Enjoy: Enjoy burgers hot with fries or a salad.

Notes

Avoid pressing down on the patties while cooking to keep them juicy. Allow burgers to rest for a few minutes after cooking.
