Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • Juice and zest of 1 orange
  • Optional: Cinnamon, nutmeg, or ginger

Instructions

  1. Rinse the cranberries under cold water, discarding any wilted or damaged ones.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, water, and the zest and juice of one orange over medium heat. Stir until dissolved.
  3. Add the cranberries and bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Once boiling, reduce heat and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool, as it will thicken further.
