  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil (or 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce for a healthy twist)
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened, for the frosting)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup milk or cream
  • Chocolate cones for the hats
  • Decorative candies like M&Ms or Skittles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, and oil (or applesauce). Mix until smooth.
  3. Spoon the batter into the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
  4. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool completely.
  5. Prepare frosting by beating softened butter with powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Gradually add milk to achieve desired consistency.
  6. Frost each cooled cupcake, creating a mound shape.
  7. Press a chocolate cone into the center of the frosting to form the witch hat. Decorate with edible candies.
