Description

A cozy fall dish featuring chicken thighs glazed with sweet and tangy apple cider, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary, to taste
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter and sear the chicken thighs skin-side down for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Flip and sear the other side.
  3. Remove the chicken and sauté onions and garlic in the same skillet until translucent.
  4. Add apple cider, mustard, soy sauce, and herbs to the skillet, scraping the bottom for flavor.
  5. Return the chicken, skin-side up, to the skillet. Simmer covered for 25-30 minutes.
  6. Once cooked, remove the chicken and reduce the sauce over medium-high heat until thickened, about 5-10 minutes. Return the chicken to coat in the glaze.
  7. Serve the chicken plated with extra glaze drizzled on top.

Notes

Chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F. Pair with mashed potatoes or sautéed greens.
