Description
Warm, sweet, and buttery cinnamon twists made quickly in an air fryer, perfect for brunch or a cozy treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet refrigerated puff pastry (approx. 8 oz) or 1 can crescent roll dough
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar + 2 tablespoons for rolling
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze, optional)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for glaze, optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla (for glaze, optional)
Instructions
- Thaw the pastry dough according to package directions; unroll onto a lightly floured surface and roll gently to even thickness.
- Mix granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a small bowl and brush half of the melted butter on the dough. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture across the dough.
- Fold the dough in half lengthwise, pressing gently to seal, then brush the top with the remaining butter and sprinkle with extra sugar.
- Cut the dough into long strips (about 1-inch wide), twist each strip several times, and tuck the ends under.
- Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes. Arrange twists in a single layer in the air fryer basket and air fry for 7-10 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown and crisp.
- If making the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with milk and vanilla until smooth and drizzle or dip each twist while warm. Serve immediately.
Notes
Serve warm with coffee or chai, and consider adding a glaze for extra sweetness. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer for best results.
