Description

A delightful orange loaf that combines citrusy notes with buttery undertones, perfect for family gatherings and cozy afternoons.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • Zest of 2 oranges

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together.
  3. In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time.
  5. Pour in the fresh orange juice and zest, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a glaze, drizzle a mix of powdered sugar and orange juice on top while still warm.
