Description

A heartwarming recipe that transforms broccoli into a delicious baked dish, perfect for family meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 to 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced (or garlic powder)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (or nutritional yeast for vegan option)
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs or panko
  • Seasonings: salt, black pepper, and cracked red pepper flakes
  • Optional: a squeeze of fresh lemon juice or zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Toss the broccoli florets with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and freshly ground pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Spread the florets on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese; sprinkle this mixture over the broccoli.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the broccoli is tender and the topping is golden brown and crispy.
  6. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over your baked broccoli just before serving.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the baking tray to prevent steaming. Parboiling the broccoli for a couple of minutes before baking can enhance texture.
