- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda, salt, and spices.
- Cut the softened unsalted butter into the dry mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gently fold in the diced apples and walnuts or pecans until evenly distributed.
- Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and centers are set but soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
