Deliciously crunchy apple chips made from fresh apples, perfect for snacking.
Ingredients
- Fresh apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji recommended)
- A sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)
- Lemon juice
- A touch of sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C).
- Wash the apples, core, and slice them thinly (about 1/8 inch thick).
- Soak the apple slices in a mixture of water and lemon juice for about 5 minutes.
- Drain and lay the slices on paper towels to dry.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the apple slices in a single layer.
- Sprinkle the apple slices with cinnamon or sugar if desired.
- Bake for 2 to 3 hours, flipping halfway through, until crisp.
- Cool on a wire rack before storing in an airtight container.
Notes
For extra crunch, bake longer while monitoring closely to prevent burning. Use ripe yet firm apples for best results.
