Description

Deliciously crunchy apple chips made from fresh apples, perfect for snacking.

Ingredients

  • Fresh apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji recommended)
  • A sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)
  • Lemon juice
  • A touch of sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C).
  2. Wash the apples, core, and slice them thinly (about 1/8 inch thick).
  3. Soak the apple slices in a mixture of water and lemon juice for about 5 minutes.
  4. Drain and lay the slices on paper towels to dry.
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the apple slices in a single layer.
  6. Sprinkle the apple slices with cinnamon or sugar if desired.
  7. Bake for 2 to 3 hours, flipping halfway through, until crisp.
  8. Cool on a wire rack before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

For extra crunch, bake longer while monitoring closely to prevent burning. Use ripe yet firm apples for best results.
