Description

Delightful and comforting honey BBQ meatballs slow-cooked to perfection, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey, chicken)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (or panko)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • Optional spices: parsley or Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and any optional herbs.
  2. Form meatballs: Roll the mixture into bite-sized meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
  3. Prepare the sauce: In a separate bowl, mix the barbecue sauce with honey until well incorporated.
  4. Layer in the crockpot: Place the meatballs in the crockpot and pour the honey barbecue sauce over them.
  5. Cook low and slow: Set the slow cooker to low and cook for about 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  6. Serve and enjoy: Once done, the meatballs should be tender and soaked with the glaze.

Notes

Avoid overmixing to keep meatballs tender. For a thinner sauce, add a splash of water or broth before serving.
