Description

Delicious flaky pastries filled with rich salmon, sautéed mushrooms, and fresh herbs, perfect for family dinners or elegant gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Fresh salmon fillets
  • Puff pastry
  • Cremini or shiitake mushrooms
  • Shallots
  • Garlic
  • Fresh dill
  • Fresh parsley
  • Cream cheese
  • Egg wash

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: Finely chop mushrooms, shallots, and garlic. Sauté in a skillet over medium heat until golden and aromatic.
  2. Add Herbs and Cheese: Stir in chopped herbs and cream cheese once the mixture cools slightly.
  3. Prepare the Salmon: Cut salmon fillets into bite-sized pieces and toss with salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
  4. Assemble the Wellingtons: Roll out puff pastry, place filling and salmon, fold over, and seal edges. Brush with egg wash.
  5. Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Avoid overfilling the Wellingtons to prevent leaks. Ensure the puff pastry is chilled for better flakiness.
