Ingredients

  • 8 oz fresh goat cheese
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp fresh herbs (basil, thyme, or chives)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 large egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Goat Cheese: Take the goat cheese out of the fridge and let it soften.
  2. Form the Balls: Scoop out small portions and roll into 1-inch balls.
  3. Prepping the Coating: Combine panko breadcrumbs with chopped herbs and whisk an egg in another bowl.
  4. Coat the Cheese Balls: Roll each ball in egg wash, then in breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Chill: Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and chill for 30 minutes.
  6. Fry or Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes, or fry in olive oil until golden.
  7. Serve: Arrange on a platter, drizzle with honey, and garnish with fresh herbs.

Notes

Ensure the oil is hot before frying. Use a wire rack for even baking if choosing the oven method.
