Description

Delightful crispy poppers filled with broccoli and cheddar cheese, perfect for snacking or serving at gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (regular or panko)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the broccoli florets and shredded cheddar cheese. Add the breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix until the ingredients are evenly combined and the broccoli is coated in cheese.
  4. Scoop out small portions and form them into bite-sized balls or patties.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place the poppers in the basket, making sure they don’t touch.
  6. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a vegan alternative, substitute the egg with a flax egg. You can also add sautéed mushrooms or bell peppers for variations.
