- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup dried cranberries, chopped
- Zest of 1 large orange
- Powdered sugar for coating
- Chopped nuts (optional, e.g., walnuts or pecans)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add all-purpose flour, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chopped dried cranberries and orange zest.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Once cool, roll each cookie in powdered sugar until fully coated.
- Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to a week.
Notes
These cookies can also be frozen for up to three months; coat them in powdered sugar once thawed.
