A tender and moist cake filled with sweet, sautéed apples and a hint of cinnamon, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
- 3 large eggs
- 3–4 medium fresh apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (or nutmeg)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
- Peel, core, and chop the apples into small chunks. Toss with a sprinkle of cinnamon and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Sift in the flour and baking powder, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped apples until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.
Notes
For a more caramelized top, sprinkle brown sugar before baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
