Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 cup mild cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water for about 7 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté chopped onions until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  4. Increase the heat and add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and herbs. Cook until browned.
  5. Lower the heat; stir in the tomato sauce and drained pasta, mixing until well-coated.
  6. Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish and sprinkle cheese on top.
