This Classic Apple Crisp brings together tart apples, warm spices, and a buttery oat crumble topping for the ultimate comfort dessert. Perfect for holidays or any time of year!
Ingredients
6 medium apples (mix of Granny Smith and Honeycrisp), peeled and sliced
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Optional: 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Peel, core, and slice the apples evenly. Toss them in a large bowl with granulated sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
3. In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and nutmeg until crumbly. Stir in nuts if using.
4. Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish. Spread the apple mixture evenly in the bottom.
5. Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the apples.
6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.
7. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Best served warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Use a blend of tart and sweet apples for more flavor depth.
Add a dash of cardamom or ginger for a spiced twist.
