Description

Delicious Christmas Stuffed Mushrooms filled with cream cheese, garlic, and herbs, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Fresh mushrooms (about 20 large)
  • Cream cheese (8 oz), softened
  • Garlic (2 cloves), minced
  • Fresh herbs (like parsley and thyme)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (½ cup)
  • Breadcrumbs (½ cup)
  • Olive oil (1 tablespoon)
  • Optional: chopped bacon or sausage (for added flavor)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Clean the mushrooms gently with a damp cloth, removing dirt.
  3. Remove the mushroom stems, finely chop them, and set aside.
  4. In a skillet over medium heat, drizzle in olive oil. Add minced garlic and chopped stems, stirring until fragrant, about 3 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, combine the sautéed mixture with cream cheese, herbs, Parmesan cheese, and breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Fill each mushroom cap generously with the mixture, piling it slightly on top.
  7. Arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and drizzle with more olive oil.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until tops are golden.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving, garnished with fresh herbs.

Notes

For a tangy twist, substitute goat cheese for cream cheese. Use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a lighter version.
