Description

Delightful and festive sugar cookies, perfect for the holiday season, decorated with colorful sprinkles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Colorful sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla into the mixture and mix until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Use a cookie scoop to form balls of dough and roll in colorful sprinkles until fully coated.
  7. Place dough balls on a lined baking sheet, spaced apart, and bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Let cookies cool on a wire rack before enjoying.

Notes

Let your butter come to room temperature for easier creaming and chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking for better texture.
